On the early morning of October 29th, I hiked along the Buffalo River Trail from Steel Creek. I started off my hike in the dark so that I can reach an overlook of the Buffalo River Valley. I was treated to areas of fog at first light.

Located roughly halfway between Dardanelle and Hot Springs, Forked Mountain is one of my favorite mountains in Arkansas. It is a more backcountry version of the highly visited Pinnacle Mountain near Little Rock.
